Hello 8th Graders! The test is coming up very soon and if you'd like to test your skills, there is a practice test posted under the Science Links section of this site. Just click the link, click on the test and choose the "simple login" option to start the test. The questions on the practice test are very similar to the real test so it should really help in your preparations for the test. :)

8th Graders-

We have a test coming up! The test over the current unit-Earth's Internal Energy-will be on the following dates:

Academy: Wed 11/16
A Day: Friday 11/18
B Day: Monday 11/21

We will be doing a study guide in class that will help you prepare for the test. There will also be a practice test posted soon as a link on this website that should also be useful to you.

Science Project Extension!!!

Congratulations classes--you did it! As of today, we have collected over 2500 boxtops--the needed number in order to get more time to finish your projects. The Science Project Report is now due 11/28 (B-day) and 11/29 (A-Day) instead of 11/17-18. If you need any help with your project, please let me know. Also be aware that the requirements and an example project are posted in the "Important Documents" section of this website.

Final Project Proposal Due Date

The Final Project Proposal for the science project will be due October 13th (A Day) and October 14th (B Day). The purpose of this assignment is for students to solidify their final idea for the project and outline their procedure, variables and hypothesis in order to have them approved. Please contact me anytime if you have questions or need help with this assignment.

8th Grade Test

The 8th grade Energy and Waves Unit Test will be 10/11 (A Day) and 10/12 (B Day). Students will complete a study guide in class which they can use to prepare for the test. If students study for 30 minutes and have their study guide signed, they will receive 3% extra credit on the test.

Initial Science Project Proposal Due Date

The first assignment regarding science projects is the Initial Science Project Proposal. It is a sheet for brainstorming and coming up with ideas for a science project. Students select their current favorite idea and turn it in. There are links on this blog that can help students find ideas. The assignment is due: 9/21 (A-Day) and 9/22 (B-Day). Disclosure Take Home Quiz

Disclosure Take Home Quizzes are due Thursday 8/25 (A Day) and Friday 8/26 (B Day). Please follow the link to the right to view the disclosure document and fill out the information on the quiz that was passed out in class. Don't forget to have it signed before you turn it in!
